What is the purpose of the Friendship Foundation?
The Foundation is the official gift-receiving and fund-management organization of Glencroft Senior Living. The Foundation receives and administers charitable gifts for the benefit of Glencroft, provides effective investment management and fund stewardship, nurtures donor support and enhances visibility to help Glencroft achieve its financial goals
Why is a separate Foundation advantageous?
As a private, nonprofit organization, the Friendship Foundation provides investment flexibility and a separation between other entities under the Friendship Retirement Corp. umbrella.
What is a nonprofit corporation?
A Nonprofit Corporation is an entity formed to carry out a charitable, educational, religious, literary or scientific purpose. A nonprofit corporation can raise funds by receiving public and private grant money and donations from individuals and companies. Certain federal, state, and local income, property and sales tax exemptions are available to nonprofit corporations. The federal and state governments do not generally tax nonprofit corporations on money they make that is related to their nonprofit purpose, because of the benefits they contribute to society.
What specific services does the Foundation provide?
The Foundation is responsible for:
• Receiving, recording, receipting, acknowledging and reporting gifts
• Investing funds
• Providing stewardship for fund management and disbursement
• Maintaining a data base of residents, donors, family and friends
• Assisting the public relations and development offices in institutional advancement efforts
• Educating, inspiring and appreciating our donors
What types of contributions does the Foundation accept?
Donors can give outright contributions using cash, checks or credit cards, publicly traded securities, tangible personal property and other property with a use related to the needs of Glencroft. Donors may also utilize estate planning vehicles to make gifts such as bequests, trusts and gift annuities. For more specific information about planned gifts, please refer to the “Ways to Give” tab.
Is my gift tax deductible?
Friendship Foundation, Inc. (FFI) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3)charitable organization and all contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. To confirm that FFI has received your gift and for tax purposes, you will receive a letter and receipt documenting the gift amount.
Can I put restrictions on my gift and specify how it is to be used?
Yes, a donor may place some restrictions on his/her gift but they must be discussed with foundation and board leadership to ensure that such restrictions are legal and acceptable to Friendship Retirement Corp. and that the gift meets the needs of the institutional mission. Once approved, a designated or restricted fund is established to benefit a specific project or program. Discretionary or unrestricted funds allow management to utilize proceeds for the highest and best use of the organization.
How will I know my wishes will be followed?
When a gift is made or a fund is established, the Friendship Foundation strives to understand your intent and ensure your charitable interests are met. Stewardship and management of donated funds is taken very seriously.
How do I name the Foundation in making my contribution?
The legal name of the Foundation is Friendship Foundation, Inc. If making a gift by check or online, that designation should be listed on the payee line with specific restrictions or instructions annotated on the memo line of the check. Likewise, the legal name of the Foundation should be used in all other gifting transactions including bequests, trusts etc.
Can I make a memorial gift in honor of a friend or family member?
The foundation/development office can help you with the proper verbiage and instructions for facilitating a memorial gift to honor a loved one or friend.

Please send your check made payable to Friendship Foundation, 8611 N. 67th Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85302.
Can I make a donation online?
Yes, please refer to the button called “Donate” which will take you to an interactive PayPal form that allows you to securely make a donation using your credit or debit card.
